About the Balm
8. Do you have different strengths or varieties?
Yes — Archie’s Ache-Away comes in three varieties. Each one has the same full strength of comfrey, with different essential oils:
-
Lemon Myrtle — fresh and uplifting.
-
Night Repair (with Lavender) — calming, perfect before rest.
-
Sports Balm (with Menthol and Camphor) — cooling and invigorating.
9. What is Archie’s Ache-Away made from?
Archie’s Ache-Away is made on our family farm. We grow our own comfrey and slowly infuse it into Australian extra virgin olive oil, then blend it with a touch of local beeswax. That’s it — no fillers, no nasties, just pure, natural goodness.
10. How does comfrey help with aches and skin repair?
Comfrey has been known for centuries as “knitbone.” It contains allantoin and rosmarinic acid, which support the body’s natural repair process, ease inflammation, and soothe everyday aches. Real relief, naturally.
11. Is it safe for sensitive skin?
Most people with sensitive skin find Archie’s Ache-Away gentle and soothing. But as with any natural product, it’s always best to do a small patch test first.
12. Does it contain arnica or magnesium?
No — our formula is strictly comfrey, olive oil, and beeswax. No arnica, no magnesium.
13. How should I apply it, and how often?
Massage a small amount into the affected area until absorbed. You can use it 2–3 times daily, or as needed. A little goes a long way.
14. Can I use it on children or pets?
Archie’s Ache-Away is for external use only. While it’s a natural balm, we recommend checking with your health professional before using it on children under 12 years of age or on animals.
Our Process
15. Where do you source your ingredients?
The comfrey comes directly from our farm, grown and harvested by hand. The olive oil is from Australian producers, and the beeswax is supplied by local beekeepers. Supporting local is part of what makes Archie’s Ache-Away special.
16. Why is it made in small batches?
Small-batch production keeps the balm fresh and effective. Each jar is carefully hand-poured, not mass-produced.
17. Why is it called Archie’s Ache-Away?
It’s named after my son, Archie. He’s the inspiration behind this family business — and a daily reminder to keep things simple, natural, and real.
Storage & Shelf Life
18. How should I store the balm?
Keep your balm with the lid firmly closed, in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
19. How long does it last before expiring?
The balm is good for 12 months from the date of purchase. It may naturally lose a little scent or colour over time, but this won’t affect how well it works.
20. What happens if it melts in hot weather?
We always recommend storing Archie’s somewhere cool, but if it does melt, don’t worry. Just let it cool and it will set again. It may lose a touch of scent if overheated, but it’s still just as effective.
