Peer Reviewed Papers involving Comfrey Trials
For over 2000 years, Comfrey (Symphytum officinale L.) has been valued in traditional medicine for its anti-inflammatory, analgesic and astringent properties. The botanical name for Comfrey, symphytum, is derived from the Latin symphyo, literally meaning “I grow together”. This explains Comfrey’s more common name of “knit-bone”.
During the 20th Century, the active compounds in Comfrey were first identified. It was found that Allantoin, Rosmarinic Acid, along with a host of mucalaginous compounds, were largely responsible for Comfrey's healing properties. Although not commonly advertised, a synthetically formulated Allantoin is widely utilised in commercial cosmetic formulations due to its effectiveness in skin healing. We use a whole plant extract (as opposed to synthetic versions) that we produce right here on the farm, using a uniquely developed process to ensure a strong, consistent Comfrey extract.

A consistent best seller, Archie's Lemon Myrtle is our original rapid pain relief balm. Our proprietary Comfrey base is combined with a locally grown and distilled, Certified Organic Lemon Myrtle Essential Oil.
Lemon Myrtle is well known for its anti-inflammatory properties, and many of our customers are finding it excellent for the management of Rhumatoid and OsteoArthritis, particularly in the hands and fingers. Lavender Grosso is a very mild, earthy version of Lavender with a gentle citrus undertone. Not at all overpowering, and very different to the more common Lavender Angustifolia. Even if you're not a Lavender lover, you will find Archie's Lavender very palatable!
